Hello, The lowest published fare that i was able to find ( non-stop from London to Chicago ) from 15 Nov to 23/24 is 154 British pounds + 63 pounds tax on American Airlines and can be booked at http://wwww.airfares.co.uk. Alternately, the lowest priced fare ( non stop from chicago to burlington ) from 18 nov to 20 nov is $429 all tax included and can be found at www.orbitz.com. ( one stop lowest priced ticket is $401 ) . The reason for high prices to burlington is that the local airport is not served by any regional airlines and is not a major hub for major carriers. Airport Codes: Chicago (CHI) Burlington, VT (BTV) I hope that the prices i have listed are really the cheapest available. Please dont delay too much if you want to book cheap prices to chicago as the agency specializes in limited availabile tickets. Regards, leader-ga | |

Hi, Until recently I worked in travel in the UK; you will have great difficulty finding a cheap flight from the UK for these dates as your stay does not include a Saturday night which is the basic qualifier for discounted fares. If you could go a day earlier or return a day later you are far more likely to get a reasonable price. Regards, Ali |

Hi again, I have found 2 discounted fares to Chicago for those dates, but both are indirect. £429.50 changing in Milan or £603 changing in Amsterdam. I'm just seeing if I can find anything direct & also the internal flight (which is looking quite expensive too). Ali |

Air fares literally can change by the minute. What may be the cheapest when a researcher finds it may not be the cheapest by the time the purchaser buys it. I know this from personal experience; a few months ago I found a true bargain fare, but it was gone five minutes later when I confirmed that the flight times would work out. The weird thing is that it was back a few hours later (with slightly different times, but the same airline). |

I have an illustration of mvguy's comment about fares changing *literally* by the minute. Last year, I had two windows open on my computer, containing two airfare search engines. I renewed my two searches every minute or so for the same itineraries. The price would be lower on one search engine one minute, and lower on the other one the next minute. The prices bounced around on both search engines several times during the hour. Still, it may be helpful to meerschaum if someone indicated what the lowest fares were at during a particular period of time on more than one airfare search engine. That will give meerschaum a sense of the lowest fares possible, even if the searches might need to be run several times in order to find the same or similar fare. |
