I am looking for a children's story that my mother remembers from her
childhood. It is called "Grandma Glittens and her Amazing Mittens". It
is part of a collection of stories. The collection may be by 
Scholastic, and the book came out in the 40's or 50's I believe. If
you have any information please let me know. Also Please let me know
where aI can find the book.  Thanks

named Nancy. She confirmed that the book is in stock. Just to be sure,
I asked her to read the contents of the book to me over the phone.

I should have mentioned that some of the copies at Alibris are of a
second edition of the book that came out in 1955. I notice that the
second edition is somewhat shorter. "Granny Glittens" is definitely in
the 1947 edition, so you might want to order that one just to be safe.

It has come to my attention that, in addition to being in "The Golden
Christmas Book" (1947), the story "Granny Glittens and Her Amazing
Mittens" is also in "The Tall Book of Christmas" (1954).
