I've created a vertical explorer bar (also called a “Web Band”; it is
just like the Favorites or Media bar in IE) as a plugin to Internet
Explorer. I need to be able to open the bar programmatically after
the bar has been closed. For example, after some event like
navigating to a specific web page, I need my bar to open up to display
new information.

do you have control over the contents of the specific page you're
navigating to (that is, can you have it include particular script that
asks the web bar to appear?) or do you want your bar to be able to
watch for pages and do something in reaction to them (like come up
whenever you go to www.yahoo.com?)

I do not have control over the contents of the specific pages that are
being navigated to. But I do want it to be able to open when I
navigate to a URL that I'm looking for. Checking for the navigation
is done, I just need to be able to open the bar (band) when I get
there.
