Hello,
Your best bet would be to go with a remote terminal program such as PC
Anywhere. After installing the server on the host computer, and
running a small client, you are able to control every aspect of the
computer as if you were sitting right there. You see exactly what you
would be seeing if you were sitting right at the computer, and any
keystrokes or mouse clicks are interpreted as if you were using that
computer's keyboard and mouse. I myself use it to administrate servers
for clients I have all across the state when I'm unable (or just too
lazy) to drive out to physically work on them. PC Anywhere gives you
extra options such as file transfer and the like, but if you just need
a utility for remote administration, I would recommend a freeware
variant developed by the prestigious AT&T Laboratories Cambridge which
allows you to accomplish this by use of a 500k download. Did I mention
that it is free? It's blazingly fast over broadband, and bearable over
56k modem. VNC also comes with its own built in webpage interface so
you don't even need to carry a copy of the software client with you,
just to go http://ipaddress.of.your.computer.com:5800 and you can
start working right away. Please read the VNC - How Can I Use It link
at the bottom for a better description of its functions.
Search Strategy:
None, I've used all the software I've mentioned before.
