Hi there, There are two reasons... Problem 1 --------- Google has indexed your site: ://www.google.com/search?q=+site:www.dougsalin.com+dougsalin ...but not all of it. A possible cause is the meta tag on your index page. It says: <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="index, no follow"> It would be best to change it to <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="index, follow"> If you want the pages Client List and Biography to be listed, I suggest submitting those two pages individually, ASAP. Problem 2 --------- All of the pages Google has indexed have a negative aspect which will dramatically reduce the number of times your site appears in search results - no text (except for the line Sign my GuestBook). Google cannot read text contained within images. Therefore at present Google has nothing to work with. This will be improved when Google indexes the Client List and Biography pages, but the best thing you can do is include some text on your index page, or have an alternative index page which is text only. Best wishes, robertskelton-ga |

That's a very goo dpoint made in the answer above. As you site is defineately indexed in Google, you may have felt you weren't listed as you aren't getting any hits from it. However, being in Google is meaningless in your case, because there is nothing linked to you beyond your address. With the exception of trying to see whether you're listed, there's little reason for searching for your URL. Customer's won't. Another factor beyond the lact of anything in your pages for Google to index, is the lack of any links to your site. Google partially bases your search results on your PageRank, which is affected by the number fo indexed pages that link to you. Google knows of none at this time. |
