Question ID: 90093
I have downloaded an audio book and would like to transfer it to a CD
so I can listen to it in my car. The file exceeds the capacity of the
CD-R. How can I burn this file onto multiple CD's?

What type of file is the book in? The reason I ask is that most of the
audio book downloads are in a proprietary format, and not basic .wav
file or .mp3. Do you need to use a program other than a regular mp3
player such as WinAmp to play this file? Did you have to download a
player from the site you bought it from?

The file is MP3 and was downloaded via BearShare. I'm using
MusicMatch Jukebox 7.20 to burn the CD. I believe that the MP3's are
converted to WAV when transferred to the CD.

Hello spencercat,
I believe that the easiest solution to your problem is to split your
MP3 file into multiple files. Once that is accomplished, you can burn
the different files into different CDs without fear of exceeding the
capacity.
One MP3 splitter program that I found useful is MP3 Splitter 2.0,
available as a free download from
http://download.com.com/3000-2170-1591474.html?tag=lst-0-1 . Once you
have downloaded it, unzip it onto a folder and then run the program
contained inside. The user interface is fairly intuitive, although
some menu items are not in English. Choose your MP3 file as the
source file, and choose a name for the output file. You can split
your file by size, or by time. When you press "create," the output
files will have numbers attatched to their names, so you would know
the order.
Once your file is partitioned, you can burn those smaller files onto
different CDs without having to go over the capacity.

I hope that answered your question. If you need clarification, please
request for it before rating this answer and I will be happy to
clarify.
