Dear exaraymon,
I'll take the basic instructions from the following book:
"Honda Prelude: 1979 thru 1989: All Models: Automotive Repair Manual.
by Ray M. Jones, et al.
Haynes Publishing Group (1990)
ISBN # 1 85010 629 0
Engine oil and filter change: page 39-41
1. Park the car on a level spot.
2. Start the engine and let it run until it reaches normal operating
temperature.
3. Remove the oil filler cap in the rocker arm cover.
5. If possible, raise the vehicle and support it on jackstands (using
hydraulic jacks is not enough - if you don't have jackstands, don't
raise it up).
Please be careful not to touch hot surfaces!
6. Find the drain plug. Lying on your back under the car, with your
feet sticking out the front of the car, the plug is located to the
right, near the front right wheel, to your right of the exhaust pipe
and in front of the front wheel axel.
6. Place a drain pan under the drain plug and remove the plug (you
will need a proper size box end wrench or six-point socket - be
careful, the oil will be hot, use gloves if necessary)
7. Allow the oil to drain into the pan.
8. When it is finished, wipe off the drain plug with a clean rag.,
clean the area around the drain plug and put the plug back in, tighten
it securely but do not strip the threads.
9. Move the drain pan to under the oil filter (it's probably in the
front, near the alternator, below the valve train).
10. Loosen the oil filter (it will be very tight and will require a
special filter wrench - they are readily available, any kind will do),
being careful to tilt the open end upward as soon as it comes loose
to avoid spilling oil all over youself)
11. Again, wipe the area clean.
12. Smear some clean oil on the rubber gasket of the new filter and
screw it into place (do not use the wrench to tight it). Tighten it
until it comes in contact with the seating surface and then give it an
additional 3/4 turn.
13. Lower the vehicle and add 3 quarts of the fresh oil (check your
car's manual for oil specs and capacities)
14. Wait awhile and then run the engine. Check for leaks under the
vehicle.
15. Turn the car off and wait awhile. Check the dipstick and top up if
needed.
16. Discard the oil safely at an oil reclamation depot or garage.
17. You might want to consider changing the spark plugs at the same
time.
If you can get a hold of a Haynes manual, so much the better. Here are
two links to keep an eye on where you can search for used books:
