How do I get back to the Search Engine page after I have gone numerous pages into a specific web site? Hitting the Back button continually seems inefficient. |

Hi tatanesia, It took me a while to discover this little utility, but it sure makes life a lot easier. If you want to return to a page you've recently viewed, and you're using Internet Explorer, click the down arrow to the right of the back button; with Netscape, select the 'Go' tab on the toolbar. You'll see the webpage trail you left behind you -- that is, a list of the last nine pages you've clicked through. Simply scroll down and select the one you wish to return to. Keep in mind that if you've visited more than nine pages, you'll only see the nine most recent. I consulted a techie friend who clued me into an even BETTER option - simply hit Ctrl+H to see a history of all the pages you've viewed since last clearing your cache, and select the one you need. Who'd a thunk it! For more details on history preferences and other features, select your browser's help index and refer to "viewing web pages" in Netscape or "revisiting web pages" in Internet Explorer. Happy surfing! Emjay-ga |

Rather than scrolling through history, most people find themselves using the same search engine over and over again. Why don't you set it up as bookmark (CTRL-D). That way, you'll always be 1 click away. =) |

Get the Google Toolbar and simply press "Search Web" again after searching from the toolbar. It's the handiest little thing on the world. xemion-ga |

1. you could set google as your home page and then click home everytime you want to search. (using history is kinda painstaking 2. use the google toolbar. 3. create a personal web portal with all the links you go to, (ie. news sites, sports, etc, and have a google search placed on the site) |

Or you could hold down shift while clicking a link (right clicking and chosing "open in new window" also works). This will open the current link in a new, sepperate window. After you are done viewing this page, simply close it and you are back at your starting page (google). Holding Alt and pressing F4 will close the active window/program. Hope this helps. |
