Greetings again! In my searches, I discovered Licensing World. It
isn't exactly a database per se but seems to be a treasure trove of
licensing information. It might be a good source for you to
initialize queries.
Licensing World -http://www.licensingworld.com/news/html/industrywatch.html
Their "About" page (http://www.licensingworld.com/html/aboutus.html#about)
reads in part:
"Licensing World is a privately held US based company, located in New
Canaan, Connecticut, with the mission to provide a barrier-free,
global platform for licensing companies, big and small, to participate
and showcase their properties, products and services effectively to
the industry worldwide, in a more flexible and cost-effective way than
traditional trade media
"Aside from some restricted archive and member sections, the site is
totally "open-access". Anyone with a connection to the internet can
use our services, browse our database and read up on developments and
news from within the licensing industry.
"Presently we reach over 60,000 industry professionals who visit our
site monthly, well over half a million page views and a million hits a
month (Mar. 2002 statistics)."

World Magazine offers a great article on a licensing show located at
http://www.awn.com/mag/issue4.04/4.04pages/luriolicensing.php3. The
article
is titled "Learning from Licensing -- What Sells" by Eric Lurio. He
writes "After faithfully attending the show for a decade and a half
(except when I was taking my 'round the world jaunt in '89), I've
learned what it is to look for in an unknown property and what
pitfalls licensees can land in." I found the article very educational
and I think you will enjoy his perspective.

Warner Bros. offers you their own television channel and characters
Cartoon Network . Only CLP Warner Bros. offers you the wide range of
classics to address every demographic. So don't waste your marketing
budget on one-off hot properties. Let us help you to put together a
marketing strategy that includes a licensing element."
