The web-page is mostly how-to-use pictures. This floss holder is
good for about 250 all-teeth flossing. (250 days if one flossing/day).

Yes, I know at least four. Your product has been discussed outside of
this format for the simple reason I am a denture wearer and others
don't want to wind up in the position I'm in. Full uppers and partial
lowers.

How would they go about getting these samples? There can be no direct
contact between us as you already know. Will you put the offer on
your website?

cheers

Hello again,digsalot-ga,
I was told that if i don't ask a question in a Req. for clarification
the researcher doesn't have to respond.
I am asking no question here (unlike above)and you need not to
respond.
This is only a more detailed explanation of the above:
-Google could be an intermediery --if they would like to, however I
have to provide the patent no. associated with the product by which
essencial privacy of the inventor of the product would go away.
-I think the simplest solution in this case could be to give me two
nicknames on Google or changing mine after awhile or from time to
time.
-Honest, I am still in doubt whether this product can be recognized by
others as well. (It was developed because the inventor wanted to avoid
badly a situation similar to yours be happening.)
-But after finding a way to give out free samples and get real
feedback it will be easier to decide what to do.
-The most dissapointing for me is that most dentists dismiss it, even
so they appreciated the results obtained with it. It appears very
complicated to others.
-There aren't too many options for me to start -- auctions, small
online shops.
 Thanks for answering and asking.

I have to presume from your clarification request you are speaking
about the total number of people. The answer would be 8-10. If you
are wanting to know addresses or other contact information about them,
that is against our policy. The only way I could get them in touch
with you would be through your website where an offer of samples would
be made. The people I am speaking of don't even know I work for this
organization as that is against our policy as well. I have simply
brought up the device in conversation as though I had heard of it
someplace else. Any concept of this organization acting as a
middleman would have to be brought up with the powers that be. Nobody
from this end of things could advise you about that.

Cheers digsalot

1. I would have no problem offering free samples for your friends. The
problem lies not with me.
Here is an idea: your friends email @ could appear on a page you would
post in a question re. free samples and all explained in the question,
and inform me about that in a clarification to this question. How does
this sound to you?
thank you.

So 8-10 friends of yours would like to get a frree sample each?
If you think that they are not much above and not much below the
general US statistics, then would you please answer my new question as
well?
thank you

Here is what we could do now:
You could answer my questions 'free samples wanted by 9', and make a
comment how you feel about knowing the general situation in US: well,
so-so, no idea, etc.

Clarification of Answer by digsalot-ga on 27 Oct 2002 09:23 PST
Well first, before I could post my friend's email in any form, I would
have to get their permission to do so. I don't see them all at the
same time and in fact a couple of them won't even be back
beforeThanksgiving. Second, posting them in any manner, whether in
question form or not, would violate the no personal information rules.
I don't write them, I just live by them.

I still think the best way for you to go would be to offer samples
through your website. In order to keep from giving away the store,
you could limit the sample giveaway to the first X number of requests
and post that number clearly so there could be no question later from
somebody who wanted one but was too late with the request. Since you
have already posted the URL of your website as part of some of your
questions, it would be very easy to point it out to people.

Don't forget, the more visitors you get to YOUR website is better
exposure than second hand information through some other kind of
forum, such as this.

As much time and effort as you are putting into this, you have already
reached a wide audience just by being here. That is an advantage many
new start-up businesses online don't have. Use it wisely.

Hm, digsalot-ga .
What do you think: If everybody would be offered a free sample of
floss tensioner now, what % of flossing-age people in the US would
like to get one and try it out?

Clarification of Answer by digsalot-ga on 27 Oct 2002 12:48 PST
When dealing with percentages such as that, you would need a
professional marketing survey. There is a percentage of the
population that would not accept anything free, even free money.
There is also a percentage of the population who will accept anything
that is free, whether they have a use for it or not. What those
percentages are, I would not have the slightest idea.

Perhaps you should post a question dealing with marketing research?
It is a field I have no knowledge of and would not want to mislead you
by making uneducated guesses. It would not be fair to you or your
company for me to do so.

I know 14 people in the US who would use this product.

1. In my view, I think that at least 75% of the US population should
use the product.

2. However I think only about 55% to 60% would actually want to use
floss tensioners.

3. The reasons are the following:

a.) In number 1, since people in the US today eat lots of meat
products which results in food residues in the mouth, would really
have to use tools like these so as to properly care for their dental
health.

See the following link:

"What People are (Unfortunately) Really Eating"
http://www.un.org/depts/dhl/maplib/worldregions.htm

b.) In number 2, I think that a lot of Americans, eventhough they
know the importance of flossing and the nature of this product, they
will be hesitant to use it since it will take out a lot of time in
their busy schedule.

I do hope that this would be of value to you. Thanks for visiting us.

Dear Googel-ga,

I have to apologize dearly! I made a mistake on the link I gave you
which made me wonder on your comment on my numbers being checked. The
correct link should have been the following:

"What People are (Unfortunately) Really Eating"
http://www.vegsource.com/articles/milk_pyramid.htm

I am really sorry for this big mistake. The previous link was not
about diet (it was about geography) but should have been in
preparation to a different question. Again I apologize.

Thank you for the very generous rating.

Regards,
Easterangel-ga

Dear Easterangel-ga,
The funny thing is that i was just kidding, and i didn't look at the website.
I wanted your guess, "in your view".
They were so encouraging that i wrote "checked".
Any regrets on those numbers (75%, 55%)?
Yours,
g

Thanks. No regrets on the numbers though (75%, 55%) those were based
on purely honest guesswork. What a day!
