Hi there,

It would be very hard to get official volume figures from the lesser
players, for they all want to give the impression that their
advertisers will get a lot of traffic. They therefore tend to only
mention how many search results they appear in.

NOTE: Some people consider Google Adwords to be a Pay-Per-Click
engine, some don't. It is definitely in the Top 3, alongside Overture
and FindWhat.

Alexa
=====

Alexa can be used as a rough indicator of traffic but I wouldn't take
it too literally. Pay Per Click Search Engines has a large table of
PPC engines, with their traffic figures as determined by Alexa:

http://payperclicksearchengines.com/alexa-results.shtml

Alexa
http://pages.alexa.com/company/index.html?p=Dest_W_t_40_B1

Going by Alexa visits, the top 11 (in order) are:

Overture
7Search
IQSeek
PageSeeker
NetFlip
Xuppa
GoClick
FindWhat
ePilot
Kanoodle
eSpotting

It is known that FindWhat are second to Overture, so take the above
ranking with a pinch of salt.

From the sites themselves
=========================

Overture - 500 million clickthroughs last quarter
http://www.corporate-ir.net/ireye/ir_site.zhtml?ticker=OVER&script=410&layout=0&item_id=347827

FindWhat - 60 million clickthroughs last quarter
http://www.findwhat.com/content/pressrelease.asp?a=90

7Search - has long claimed to be the second most trafficked PPC site,
but doesn't back it up with much in the way of figures, other than the
questionable Alexa statistic, and "Our results on average are exposed
to over 100 million searches per month" which is very different to
clickthroughs. Most of these searches are via metasearch engines,
which have many different PPC results included. They would definitely
be in the top 10 though.

Ah-Ha - Likewise, all it mentions is "our entire network of partners,
which reaches over 30 million unique users monthly". They mean sites
like Dogpile, where the Ah-Ha always appear on the second page of
search results.
http://www.ah-ha.com/list/

Turbo10 - "Currently Turbo10 handles about 4 million searches a day.
Your listings will also appear on our network of partner sites which
includes Infospace's Dogpile UK Network"
http://turbo10.com/addyoursite.html

Sprinks - "Through our extensive network of Distribution Partnerships,
Sprinks drives more than 8 million leads a month to an extensive
advertiser base of more than 13,000 advertisers."
http://www.sprinks.com/mk/index.htm

eSpotting - "we power 540 million search requests per month across
Europe. That gives our advertisers access to 72% of the UK's online
population through our affiliate deals with search engines, ISPs,
portals and destination sites."
http://www.espotting.com/info/aboutadvertisers.asp

Brainfox - only mentions that they have 20,000 advertisers. They have
a keyword "research" tool for seeing how many clickthroughs each
keyword generates per month, but I don't trust it. It took me a very
long time to use up my $10 deposit, even when I was listed #1 with
keywords like "books"
http://www.brainfox.com/research/

ePilot - 10 million searches each month from their own site, and 200
million per month via sites like Dogpile.
http://www.eliberation.com/AboutUs/FactSheet/default.asp?SubSection=Fact+Sheet&MainSection=About+Us

GoClick - "The February edition of PCData ranked goClick the 445th
most visited site on the web and the #3 PPC search engine with over
1.9 million visitors! Together these visitors account for over 80
million targeted searches a month." No year given.
http://www.goclick.com/marketing/

PageSeeker - "PageSeeker is forever growing and is currently serving
in excess of 50 million searches per month."
https://secure.pageseeker.com/help_faq.htm?display=faq2

NetFlip - "In the July Internet Traffic Report, netScore ranked
NetFlip as the 42nd most trafficked web property. According to the
report released by comScore Networks and Diameter, NetFlip reached 9.1
million unique US visitors and 17.7 million unique worldwide visitors.
In addition, the Jupiter Media Metrix rankings for July placed NetFlip
as the 89th most popular website." But that's July 2001, no more
recent figures could be found on their website.

Kanoodle - no figures

Xuppa (formerly Bay9) - no figures

IQSeek - no figures
