Hi mikahou,
What an extradordinarily beautiful place the Cote D'Azur or the French
Riviera is. It's on the top of my list of places to visit!
"All the way down in the south east of France along the Mediterranean,
and next to the Italian border, are the Maritime Alps and the world
renowned French Riviera. With 10 million visitors a year, of whom 60%
are foreigners, the Cote d'Azur (French Riviera) is one of the 5 most
popular destinations in the world"

To talk about the beauty of the French Riviera is endless. On the
other hand to discuss the different types of food is mouth-watering!
"Regional gastronomy in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur is very
distinctive from the rest of French cuisine. A Mediterranean influence
brings hot spices and seafood's. Because of the mountainous country,
without the rich farmlands and herds of dairy cattle, Provencal
cooking uses very little milk, and goat cheeses are predominant.
Garlic, olive oil and olives are the leitmotif, and the
abundant"herbes de Provence" are the spirit..."
"In Cote d'Azur there are are as with their own very distinctive
styles, and even the more widely-know dishes have local variations.
Nice, for example, became a part of France just over a hundred years
ago, and Nicois cooking is special, good, well-respected and
considered unique. Alpine regions, such as in the valleys of the Roya,
the Tinee, or the Var, have their unique specialities, different from
Marseilles, with its emphasis on seafood's such as the bouillabaisse."

To locate the different restaurants I found this very useful website.
Not only can you specify which city you are interested in, it also
gives you the choice of cost of meals, parking access and specific
cuisines. The French Riviera has around 191 different restaurants. I
will break down these into cities and towns and put the total of all
the restaurants of each city first and then if there is an Italian
restaurant I'll add it next:
Andon Thorenc - 2
Antibes Juan Les Pins - 28 - 1 Italian: "Restaurant Le Vesuvio"
Auribeau sur Siagne - 2
Bar sur Loup - 2
Beaulieu sur Mer - 2
Biot - 2
Cabris - 1
Cagnes sur Mer - 5
Cannes - 38 - 2 Italian: "Arcimboldo" "Le Vesuvio"
Caussols - 1
Chateauneuf de Grasse - 1
Courmes - 1
Coursegoules - 1
Eze - 1
Gourdon - 3
Grasse - 17
Le Tignet - 1
Mandelieu la Napoule - 1
Mougins - 6
Nice - 42 - 4 Italian: "Atmosphere" "Chez Davia" "La Baie d'Amalfi" Le
Koudou"
Opio - 3
Peymeinade - 1
Roquefort Les Pins - 1
Saint Cezaire sur Siagne - 2
Saint Laurent du Var - 2

Theoule sur Mer - 1
Tourrettes sur Loup - 1
Valbonne Sophia Antipolis - 5

So out of a total of 191 main restaurants there are only 8 which are
specifically Italian.
