I have been looking for a song title and artist for a song that I recorded from the radio years ago (in the mid-late eighties). It's a really catchy guitar-based tune. The song is instrumental--something along the lines of Gary Hoey--in fact, it might be him, but I have yet to find it. I have a suspicion that it might be a re-make of a 60's surf instrumental, but this is just a guess. Since I can't find my recording of the song, I've posted my own version of it at the following web location: http://members.aol.com/mlewisak/mys-song.mp3 Please forgive the guitar work in this recording. I think it should be good enough to give you the idea. The actual version I am looking for was with a full band and distortion on the guitar. If I can find my original recording or can get a better version out of my guitar-playing, I'll update the link. I'm looking for the song title, artist, and album (if available) of the 80's version, and if it is a re-make, the original artist would be great too. |

For what it's worth (which may not be much) it sounds a bit like the theme song from the old TV show, The Munsters. Have a listen and see what you think: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shadowlands/8238/Midindex.htm |

You are absolutely right! That's the tune! The version I know was fancied up a bit, but that is definitely it. However, I now realize that dozens, maybe hundreds, of bands have recorded the song...so to find the exact version I'm looking for, I'm going to have to find that recording and post it. In the meantime, I'll Kazaa as many versions as I can as candidates. I'm going to close the question 'til then. Thanks so much! That's bugged me for years! |
