The great Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote some risque folk songs back
in the 1700's. They were recorded and released on Vinyl LP in the late
1960's, perhaps on the Nunsuch (sp?) lable, but I'm not sure. Are
those recordings avaliable anywhere?
Are the songs available in any form?
Some song titles:
"Tale Toddle" or tail toddle
"Ha Ha, The Thrusting of it"

Greetings ah_oooh!

I believe you are thinking of the Nonesuch label, which was started by
Elektra records. In 1958 Elektra released an album entitled "Bobby
Burns' Merry Muses." On the album were tracks entitled "Tommie Makes
My Tail Toddle" and "The Thrusting Of It."

Here is a little more information on the record:

Elektra EKL 155 [Mono] - Released in 1958
Bobby Burns' Merry Muses - Paul Clayton
Produced by Jac Holzman

Tracks:

Nine Inch Will Please A Lady; Our Jock's Broke Yesterday; How Can I
Keep My Maidenhead?; Who Will Mow Me Now?; Johnnie Scott; John
Anderson My Jo; Tommie Makes My Tail Toddle; Tweedmouth Town; Would
You Do That?; Ellibanks; Beware Of The Ripples; Duncan Macleerie;
Muirland Meg; No Hair On It; Copper Of Dundee; Who The Devil Can
Hinder The Wind To Blow; Lassie Gathering Nuts; The Thrusting Of It;
My Bonnie Highland Lad; The Patriarch; Duncan Davison; Know Ye Not Our
Bess; Auntie Jean; A Hole To Hide It In; Can You Labour Lea

I found several sites that offer the LP for sale.

Vinyl Revival has the following listing:

"82218 Burns, Bobby & Paul Clayton: Merry Muses Of Caledonia
(Elektra EKL 155(M) LP) $35 VG+/EX/VG+ 195?,orig label,cover art
depicts a nude woman on tall grass but only above the bustline :-("
"Folk, British Folk and Bluegrass Records at Vinyl Revival":

Additionally, a place called Records By Mail has the LP listed for
$15. It is listed under the artist of Paul Clayton:

I checked eBay and unfortunately you just missed an auction for this
item (it sold for $9.50). However, the listing shows the album cover
in case you are interested in checking that out:
"BOBBY BURNS' MERRY MUSES OF CALE. ELEKTRA LP"

If you need a little information on how Nonesuch and Elektra are
related, I suggest reading through "The Elektra Story":

I hope this information is helpful. If you would like for me to
clarify any part of my answer or further research your question,
please let me know before issuing a rating. Thanks!
