Hello.

About 100,000 people are injured every year while in-line skating.

From the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission:
" CPSC estimates that approximately 100,000 consumers annually receive
hospital emergency room treatment for injuries associated with in-line
skates."
http://www.cpsc.gov/CPSCPUB/PUBS/5014.html

From Momsteam.com:
"102,911 people required emergency room treatment for inline skating
injuries in 1996"
http://www.momsteam.com/alpha/sports/inlineskating/in_line_skating_primer.shtml

From the National Youth Sports Safety Foundation:
1997 injuries: 98,414
http://www.nyssf.org/statistics1997.html
1998 injuries: 110,783
http://www.nyssf.org/statistics1998.html

The International Inline Skating Association has some data from a few
years ago (1995) that shows the relative danger of in-line skating
compared to other sports and activities:
http://www.iisa.org/resources/safety.htm

search strategy: in-line skating, inline skating, injuries

I hope this helps.
