I am looking for a website that will list how all the candidates in
the upcoming election stand on all the major issues. It must be run
by a neutral group (not a political party). I think
there must be a public advocacy group of some sort that does this, but
I don't know who. I would like this website to cover local as well as
national elections. I am looking for a table format for the
comparison of multiple candidates. For example, one issue might be
"Abortion: Are you pro-choice or pro-life?" and under each candidate
would be listed simply pro-choice or pro-life. Then, ideally, there
would also be some general information about each candidate.

Greetings Sethro-

You'll find the information you want a the website of the League of
Women Voters.
http://www.lwv.org/voter/index.html

Enter your zip code and you'll be taken to a nifty list of the races
in your area and a side-by-side comparison of the candidates on major
issues. You can even choose the issues you want to see displayed.

The League of Women Voters is "a nonpartisan political organization
that encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in
government, works to increase understanding of major public policy
issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy."
