Hello,
From eMedicine's toxicity report on Disulfiram (Antabuse), the cause
for the odor is the sulfur compounds in the medicine itself. In fact
the odor is one of the signs of an Antabuse overdose. Here is the line
in the toxicity report:
"Rotten-egg odor on breath (sulfide metabolites), garliclike or
metallic aftertaste in mouth"
Sulfur compounds are actually responsible for another smelly thing
(see below).
