My girfriend will be graduating in May from SUNY Albany with
a Master's in Women's Studies (also has a BA in English and
Philosophy), and she is very nervous about finding a job. She is
interested in gender equity education, advocation, ethics
consultation, lobbying, government, public policy, rape counseling and
higher education.

She plans to send cover letters and resumes out to potential employers
in Albany and the surrounding area. My question is this: To what
companies (corporations, non-profits, schools, government depts, etc.)
should she be sending inquiry letters and/or resumes?

A nice, long, thorough list (with some explanation for any companies
or organizations that at first glance might not seem likely
candidates) would be absolutely great!

girlfriend was interested in.  Then I thought I would look on Yahoo
Yellow Pages I found the following organizations.

I do want to say that in some cases there is limited information
available on line about these organizations.  But, in all cases I
search to see if I can tell the flavor of each organization.  I hope
that I do a good enough job.  Some of them are obvious, such as
Planned Parenthood, but not being in New York, I can’t always tell
about the reputation of an organization that is not national.
