I''ve a step counter (pedometer) I'm purchasing through an ASI
distributor. The device comes from China. I'd like to purchase direct
from an importer and skip the ASI markup. How do I go about finding
the importer?

Do you have the manufacturer's name on the device?  Also, have you
queried the distributor as to the source?  Finally, is their an image
via URL for a researcher to review to know exactly what style of
device you are looking for?

There is no manufacturer's name on the device. The distributor does
not want to give the name because they'll lose their cut. Here's the

the step counter is in the upper left corner. It measures ~ 1.5" X 2"

I'm specifically looking for the step counter shown at:
http://www.hesonline.com/Images/stepcounter.jpg. This is one we've
purchased through an ASI distributor for the last year... I would like
to purchase through an importer and eliminate the ASI markup. Our
typical order is 20,000 at a time, but with a bettter price we could
order more. I do not have a manufacturers name... I think I need to
find an importer who works directly with China factories who can track
this down. The ASI distributor I'm working with, understandably, isn't
going to give up their source.
