Rudy,

1. Are you looking for particular types or brands of cheeses? The
reason that I ask is that I think there are a number of soft cheeses
that are used for fondue, and I am having difficulty getting data on
this particular fondue group.
2. Also, you wnat US figures right? I found some numbers for
Switzerland thus far.

Claudietta - RE: FONDUE

I am interested in Category sales figures not in individual cheese
groups. How much Packaged/Prepared Cheese Fondue (ex. How much canned
corn) is purchased by the US consumer? Brands in the market include
TIGER FONDUE CLASSIC (Swiss-see iGourmet.com)/ GERBER FONDUE SWISS
NIGHT (Swiss).

Thanks for your interest. Good Luck.

RUDY

Rudy,

I just wanted to let you know that I continued to search for your
question primarily because I like fondue. From reading more industry
articles, I found out that products like Tiger classic and Gerber
Fondue seems to be ready-made products that are recently being
introduced. Cheese fondue in general is made from more fundamental
cheeses as Gruyere and Vacherin, which are considered specialty
cheeses.

Unfortuantely, I was not able to find sales figures for these,
although I was able to find the the top selling cheese brands in the
US, and similar.

Good luck,
Claudietta

Here is a lead that might help any researchers wishing to tackle this
question.

"Fondue is back. That’s what the food press has been saying for the
past year or so. But this year, it’s definitely back. It’s been
featured on the Food Network, and this month’s Sunset magazine has
recipes for it. Even Safeway has fondue mixes in its deli cases. And,
according to the Chicago Tribune, high-end manufacturers are
reintroducing fondue pots..."

Hello : rudyv-ga,

Looking at how you priced this question, you must be very eager to get
this information. I’d love to help you but I’ve reached a dead end.
When I searched for [ “market research” fondue ] I didn’t come across
anything very useful, but I did find some fun things that I might as
well share with you. I think your best bet is going to be to connect
with the Swiss manufacturers of these products and see if they can
help. Good luck.
