Genealogy:
I am looking for a trace on my family name, "Lemon", as far back as I
can to my French heritage. My Father's name is Richard Arthur Lemon,
his dad was "Lewis Lemon" married to "Vera Winters". I know that the
family escaped from France during the French revolution and moved to
England. I have no information on the family / family name in France.

Dear islandboy77,

I am sorry to say that the information you can provide is, alas, not
enough for successful research. I located the names Lemon, LeMon and
Le Mon as well as the connected forms Leman, Lehmann and Lehman (which
are, in some cases, the roots of a later "Lemon") in France. All of
them may belong to branches of your family. Do you have additional
data that would make the search easier?

Best regards,
Scriptor

Hi Scriptor
Thanks for taking this one on. I have spoken to my Mother today, and
she is going to have a rumage in some old boxes next weekend - they've
just shifted house, so there is quite a bit of stuff to dig through!
I should be able to get another 2 generations back from my
Grandfather, hopefull with full names. Will get back to you by
11/11/02.
Regards
Islandboy77

Hi Scriptor
Here's all the details I have available:
Grandfather: Lewis Lemon (poss no middle name)
Great Grandfather: Henry Lemon (married Florence, nee Hill)
Great Great Grandfather: Ernest Lemon (married Emma, nee Stubbin)
I have a family tree which shows 2 more "levels" back, but it is
fragmentary and does not list my direct descent. I do have Ernest's
siblings: Charlie, Nellie and Rose, but his parent's names are not
available, except that we know his mother was nee Greenfield. The
level before that, there were 3 boys, but I only have the names James
and George and mother Ester (nee Lloyd), but not my direct line (that
name is missing).

Dear islandboy77,

Do you also have any vital dates, such as births, marriages, deaths?
Any date might prove helpful for tracing possible ancestors of yours.

Regards,
Scriptor
