Question: How could a mobile phone wap facility be used for the
distribution industry drivers and managers e.g for driver tracking on
deliveries.

Why i need to know:
I need a idea for a peice of software that could be created for use on
mobile devices for the distribution industry. All i need is a overall
idea of what could be done using a mobile phone with wap access.

This seems so simple that I must be missing the key point of your
question:
why not simply use WAP for shortest-distance directions between each
delivery point?  WAP probably isn't generally appropriate to
downloading maps, but text directions would be perfect.

Additionally, the application could check traffic choke-points,
recommending alternates if a particular route is closed.

I thought I knew a lot about communications, but WAP? Can you explain
WAPs usual purpose or give us more details on either WAP or any
special needs you have. Do you distribute magazenes or something else?
 Why not just use a cell phone?  Neil
