National Geographic-- contained an article concerning British public

Hello buckram,

Are you certain of the year?  Also, is "GEO magazine" the complete
name of the magazine?  I searched for articles on British public
schools in 1980 using Geo* in the journal title and found no articles.
 I did the same search the journal blank and I got four articles. 
None of those were in any journals with a similar name to Geo
Magazine.

Please note that the question is framed "c. 1980's," not "1980" --
i.e., sometime in the eighties.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but this is all the information that I
have.

I remember GEO magazine - we used to read it in school - but I was
always under the impression it was an Australian publication in some
way connected to the CSIRO or Dick Smith or someone like that. My
search of the GEO site was hampered by my inability to speak German,
but I recall there being a researcher whose native language is German
- it's only a matter of time before someone can search the site for
you!
