Hello, davidb63122, Security Software Solutions Laboratory (SSS Lab.) has several products you might be interested in. The one which appears to meet all your needs is Security Officer for Windows. It costs $24.95, but you can try it before you buy it. Here's the URL: http://www.mybestsoft.com/wso/index.html Also check out SSS Lab.'s other products: http://www.mybestsoft.com/ Security Administrator by Ixis Research Ltd. meets your requirements except that it doesn't appear to have the ability to hide/lock individual files. It can also be tried before you buy it, and costs $34: http://www.softheap.com/secagent.html FileVault is a free utility which allows you to password-protect select files on your computer: http://www.brendan.curvedspaces.com/downloads.html Additional Links: Hot Downloads . com http://www.hotdownloads.com/ softList's System->Protection category. http://www.softlist.net/Programs/System/Protection/ NONAGS Freeware Shareware World Center http://www.nonags.com/ Google Directory - Computers > Software > Operating Systems > Windows > Windows 98 http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Software/Operating_Systems/Windows/Windows_98/ Search Strategy: Google search terms: "windows 98" limit desktop software -remote ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=%22windows+98%22+limit+desktop+access+software+-remote&btnG=Google+Search Google search terms: "windows 98" software hide files desktop icons ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=%22windows+98%22+software+hide+files+desktop+icons&btnG=Google+Search Best of luck, bikerman-ga |
