i want to find a certain type of franchise opportunity. the type where
the franchise provides me, the franchisee, with discount cards which i
can sell to the public. these discount cards must be usable by people
to obtain discounts at major national retailers, restaurants, tourist
attractions, etc.

the acceptance of the cards must be pre-built into the card, i must
not be required to forge such relationships for accepting the card
with businesses on my own.

in addition i need to get to put my name and logo and graphics on the
card. i have to have nearly total control of the graphics of the card.

a tip on such an opportunity wins the prize!

I think you plan can work, but I have no suggestions on how to find a
partner or franchiser who already has it mostly funtional. Neil

In which area will you like to sell? I might have an idea.

nation-wide. the card has to have acceptance at chains that exist
nation-wide. i have to be able to sell this through the internet to a
nationwide audience so it will be of no use if the card is only
honored in certain sections of the country.

A franchise is generally offered for a set territory. I can see no
advantage for the people running the card, to allow anyone to sell it
over the internet - this is something they could easily do themselves.

response to robertskelton-ga: while traditional franchises are
"divided up" according to geographical territories, the franchise i am
thinking about would be "divided up" according to "co-branding
opportunity". in other words, each franchisee would be able to sell
the card with 1 branding; for example, 1 franchisee would be able to
sell the card as a "boston red sox fan discount card", another would
be able to sell the card as a "harley davidson motorcyclist discount
card", etc. (those are dumb examples and not the co-brand i have in
mind...)
