Question ID: 94920
Where can I find copies of the albums "The Rooftop Sessions" and "The
First of February"?

The band name is either referenced as "The Last Wish" or simply "Last
Wish." This band is a Houston, Texas area group, and has since
dissolved. Its former singer, Justin Furstenfeld, is now the front
man of 'Blue October' (www.blueoctober.com).

I have found mention that the CDs were produced by 'Royal Blue
Productions', but am unsure if this is accurate. The information that
I have suggests that 'Rooftop' was released first, and that both were
released in the early/mid 90s.

Any reference to a retailer, online or not, would be appreciated.

would contact information for a person who owns a copy of the cds be
sufficient, if they are willing to sell you their originals? Due to
researcher rules, i could not post personal information, but if the
person is willing to allow it (im emailing her now), I could still get
you information necessary to obtain the cds.

I contacted the person who ran the website listed above and she said
the following about your search:

"Oh. Well, they aren't available, except through CD-Rs. Back in the
day,
they were only available on tape, and even then, they were
home-recorded, straight from the band. So my copy of the recordings is
a
burned CD as well. I don't know anyone who has an original copy
anymore,
as tapes wear out. This WAS a band from over 10 years ago, by the
way."

It seems to me that the only possible way to get this album is as a
CDR bootleg, unfortunatly. Since I am not supposed to provide
information on breaking any laws (including copyright laws), my
official position as a google researcher is that the recordings you
seek are simply not available.

This is indeed a pity, since the band no longer produces the music
anyway, and thus would not be harmed by the copying, but nevertheless,
I cannot help any further.

I am posting this as a request for clarification since the "post a
comment" feature seems to be broken at current time.

Well, it seems that I have an "answer", though not what I was hoping
for. This CD does not exist in the way I thought, as a true release.

I appreciate all of the effort, but I will listen to fate and give up
for now.

a pretty thorough site on your band is available here: [
http://angela-m.home.texas.net/blueoctober.htm ]. A quote on the
albums you are looking for:

"1992 - Justin was in a band called Last Wish. They rocked! They
released two albums, The Rooftop Sessions and The First of February.
Those were private releases and are pretty damn difficult to get
copies of. The songs listed below may not be in the right order, but
this is what the album consisted of. Several of these Last Wish songs
are still performed at BO shows, such as Artha, which is a capella,
sung by Justin."

As being private releases and "pretty damn difficult to get copies of"
I would say your chances are pretty slim, but I try to look some more.
