Shilo Inn an operator of hotels has put some of it properties in chapter 11 bankruptcy. I am wondering the best way to follow these proceedings. Are there any sites (especially court sites) that would post updates on what is going on? |

Shilo Inns case is being heard by Judge Elizabeth Perris of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon. Unfortunately, the Oregon Bankruptcy Court's website no longer has court hearing schedules on it (as some other districts do). The links are dead. Your options are: 1. a voice case information system 2. visiting court locations where public records are available in Eugene or Portland 3. using the WebPACER system, which charges 7 cents per page 4. relying on news media -- perhaps by using Google's News tab and doing a daily search for Shilo + bankruptcy. That's how I found this article from The Oregonian, "Judge orders Shilo owner to repay his bank debts" (Oct. 11, 2002): http://www.oregonlive.com/business/oregonian/index.ssf?/xml/story.ssf/html_standard.xsl?/base/business/1034337345263140.xml The first three options are outlined on the Bankruptcy Court's FAQ page (Aug. 9, 2000): http://www.orb.uscourts.gov/orb/Documents.nsf/232c86e7f0a2db8b882567b0005e1a39/d8b6d88ea5624c54882567fb0079cdb2?OpenDocument The court's home page is but be aware that scheduling links were dead today: http://www.orb.uscourts.gov Google search strategy: Google News -- "Shilo Inns" + bankruptcy "Federal bankruptcy courts" Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |
