Are their any price search sites for light fixtures & light bulbs? Or
a
list of actual low price suppliers?
Low price means under $4 per 13 Watt compact fluorescent bulb,
standard E26
base; and under $25 for a 2 to 3 standard bulb semi-flush ceiling
fixture (excludes the under $10 fixtures that have a simple round or
square curved glass plate). The suppliers may be on-line or physical
stores or store chains (Any store needs to be in or near the Lansing,
Michigan area).

I want to convert my home ceiling fixtures to fluorescent at a
reasonable cost. I am specifically interested in 13 Watt compact
fluorescent (CFL) bulbs with standard E26 base, no larger than a
standard 60W bulb (CFL mini-spirals often match this requirement).
The fixtures I am interested in are semi-flush ceiling fixtures,
holding 2 to 3 standard bulbs. The semi-flush fixtures are open at the
top, so I can use the CFL bulbs, which usually cannot be fully
enclosed. Round fluorescent circlites are too ugly.

The problem I have had seaching for this myself is too many hits on
light bulbs and light fixtures, and the sites I end up with define
"low cost" to be 10% off list price or half off of $500 light
fixtures.

Also look into state, local, non-profit and utility-sponsored programs
that sell fluorescent bulbs, or reimburse homeowners for them.

Sometimes these aren't promoted, and need to be sought out.
