How can I make an older FoxPro for DOS program connect to a telephone number using a Nokia 6210? The phone is connected via IR. The progam is designed to connect to a server via a telephone line. I assigned from Device Manager COM2 to the 6210 modem and when the software tries to connect to COM2 the soft displays "Initializing modem" and then "Disconnecting". Nothing happens with the phone during this time. I must add that I'm using Windows XP and that I succesfully connected to phone (on COM2) using HyperTerminal. Also I can set the modem port, init, dialing mode. |

download Portmon from www.sysinternals.com; it will shiff the traffic between your program and cellphone modem. You can then compare it to another modem where your foxpro program connects successfully, to figure out what it does not like. |

Try getting the phone to dial via HyperTerminal, the command is: ATDT9999 (where 9999 should be replaced by the phone number you are dialling) What initialization string is your FoxPro application sending to the phone? How does the phone respond to that string if you put it in via HyperTerminal? If you send ATL1 To the phone, does it respond in HyperTerminal with OK? |
