After a crash and re installation of windows ME from disk, the Restore Program always ends up with the message "unable to restore your computer to given date" There is lots of free space. The "disable system restore" check box is clear. Corespandance sent to: support@dell.com > > > Referring URL: 206.101.77.80 has produced frustration. |

jay4321... Unless ME is radically different from other Windows operating systems, 'restore' is only useful when the operating system is intact, since it draws from folders created under the Windows root directory. Once you re-install the system, these folders are erased, and no longer available. |

Jay, You would perhaps both better understand and gain more satisfaction from using Google Answers if you reviewed the FAQ at... https://answers.google.com/answers/faq.html#aboutres As you'll note, the comment from sublime1 is not an "Answer" but simply a comment, as is this. I'd suggest that the reason that your question has not been answered yet is that those Researchers interested in in *are* putting thought in their research and have yet to produce what they feel is a satisfactory answer to your question. Best of luck in getting your problem solved. rico |
