I have written two books which are both very popular.  I prefer to
sell them
myself partly on the internet if I can. One is a book of thirty or
more humorous
poems and the other is a book seeking to educate Young Men in how to
communicate better with females.
They are not expensive and could even be downloaded as E-books .
Any suggestions as to the best approach ?

What you want to do is pretty easy.  There are a couple of ways you
can do it.
1. Convert your book into a pdf file (Adobe Acrobat). Hopefully you
have it saved on MS Word then just use Adobe to convert it into a pdf
file.  After doing that create a website for your books.  Then you're
going to need a credit card company to accept online orders.  There
are many credit card websites that specialize in downloadable prodcts.
 One off the top of my head is www.2checkout.com  . Really easy to use
but don't always pay up on time(believe me, I know). The customer pays
for the book with a credit card then they get a URL (web link) to
where they can download your books.
Don't forget to advertise your site.  Google and Overture.com have pay
per click sites that put you at the top of the search engines. Gets
you noticed fast.  Just hope people buy your product because 5 cents a
click can add up if you have heavy traffic and no buys.
Don't forget you'll need a e-book cover maker.  Makes your e-book
legit.  www.laughingbird.com (something like that) sells a low priced
cover creator.  There are lots of them so look around.

You can do all this yourself... creat website, convert to pdf file,
get credit card service, create a cover.  You'll have to buy Adobe and
a web creator,like MS Frontpage. Kind of expensive.  (Hint: KaZaa has
lots of software for free)
It will save you BUCKS!
