I work as a software engineer testing avionics, medical devices,
automotive, etc
I searched ["software + failures" medical]..automotive] etc; results
were old. I want spider s/w or service to find org w/hot HR reqs for
my skills; ones that had recent failures and then apply for a SQA
position. Web Agencies don't cut it. I found technical literature
for web crawler design but it was not my bag.
SUMMARY: Can you find an answer to the problem?

I have a script that runs through Monster.com and searches out new
want-ads by key words. Is this the type of thing you are looking for,
or do you want something that runs through Search Engines like Google
looking for newest ads from any source?

Can you use or install Perl as a tool on your system?

Answer , regarding "script" @monster.com might be ideal. The next
question would be does it run thru monster.com "only"?? (not an ideal)
However if possible I would like to find something that runs thru
search engines that looks for ads from any source.

I do notknow Perl requirements but I have an HP Pavilion w/intel
Celeron processorwith extra ram also Win 200 Professional suite. I
will check the requirements of Perl (unless you have them at hand)
and find out how to use it.
Starting from zero and working with something I am going to have to
spend time with is impractical at the moment. What prompted the Perl
question///

Hello manish namdeo-ga I THINK I NEED A MORE GENERAL PURPOSE SOLUTION
as you noted. Can you name the destop search s/w . Can you point me
to other than 'intellisearchnow'. I( I feel that I need a primary and
alternate source).
I would like the software that crawls the web but your second idea of
an agents technology will do for the short term.
I findk that my question has generated two replys and two different
ways that I may proceed. Look at the desktop s/w whatever you might
suggest, and get an agent. Please feed me the details of your answer.

What prompted the Perl question was that the language is ideal for
this type of searching. If you look through some of my recent answers
you'll see what I mean. Using the Google API or just Perl by itself is
a powerful combination with the Internet. I only suggested it because
you mentioned you were a programmer and I thought you might have some
experience with the language or something similar.

To make a script to do this, you would need a few targeted areas,
websites, you were looking for, or enough descriptive keywords that
the program could make a good judgement on ads it found without
swamping you with a lot of notifications.

Would a site like jobpointer.com serve your needs? It searches the web
for jobs so it's not just limited to sites that pay to have their job
listed.

Check out http://www.flipdog.com

This is basically what they do:

Crawl companies' sites and get jobs that may not have been
listed on the major jobsites ie. Monster/Careerbuilder/Dice etc.

Monster is affiliated to them somehow.

The job listings are not always current, but it does provide a lot of stuff
you might not otherwise see, so it's worth wading through.
