Hello--

I've researched your question and have your answer.

Your fastest route will take you 28 minutes:

"DIRECTIONS DISTANCE

1: Start out going Southwest on FIELD POINT RD toward DAYTON AVE.
0.21 miles

2: Turn LEFT onto SOUND VIEW DR. 0.21 miles

3: SOUND VIEW DR becomes ARCH ST. 0.22 miles

4: Merge onto I-95 N via the ramp- on the left- toward NEW HAVEN.
26.21 miles

5: Take the exit- exit number 27- toward LAFAYETTE BLVD/DOWNTOWN.
0.17 miles

6: Turn RIGHT onto MYRTLE AVE. 0.09 miles

7: Turn LEFT onto RAILROAD AVE. 0.25 miles

Total Estimated Time: Total Distance:

If you are looking to avoid highways, your trip will take a bit more
than an hour. But here are the directions:

13.86 miles

3: Turn RIGHT onto CROSS ST/US-1/BELDEN AVE. Continue to follow US-1
N. 9.98 miles

4: US-1 N becomes POST RD. 0.58 miles

5: POST RD becomes FAIRFIELD AVE. 1.47 miles

6: Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto RAILROAD AVE. 1.54 miles

Total Estimated Time: Total Distance:

I have also found directions directly from the Bridgeport to Port
Jefferson Ferry:

"Bridgeport, Connecticut
From I-95 Westbound
Take Exit 27, at bottom of ramp make left, then straight on Lafayette
Street. Continue under rail road bridge and make left on Rail Road
Avenue, proceed ahead to ferry access road.

From I-95 Eastbound
Take exit 27 straight ahead to second traffic light. Make right on
Lafayette Street and proceed under rail road bridge and make left on
Rail Road Avenue, proceed ahead to ferry access road.

From Route 8 & 25
Take last exit, Exit #1, straight ahead to third traffic light. Left
on S. Frontage Rd. make right at Lafayette Street and proceed under
rail road bridge make left on Rail Road Avenue, proceed ahead to ferry
access road.

Please Note: Walk-on foot passengers MUST use passenger entrance on
Walter Street.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Port Jefferson, New York
From LIE (I-495) Eastbound or Westbound
Take LIE Exit #64, head directly north on Route 112. At northern
terminus of Route 112 in Port Jefferson Village, make right (east) on
Broadway then quick left into Ferry Vehicle Lot.

Note: If Eastbound on I-495 (Long Island Expressway) you may choose to
exit expressway at exit #63 (County Road 83). Take County Road 83
north to Route 112. Make left on Route 112 to Port Jefferson Village.
Make right on Broadway, then quick left into Ferry Vehicle Lot."

You may see this information on the Ferry's web site. The link is

To conduct this research I first searched the search terms
"Bridgeport/Port Jefferson Ferry." I then went to www.mapquest.com and
typed in the addresses.

I hope this helps! If you need clarification, please don't hesitate to
ask.
