I wish to purchase good and services on the web with a 'disposable'
credit card number without revealing my true credit card number and
personal details. I feel more comfortable not having to rely on the
privacy assurances of the merchant i deal with. Are there a few
competing services that can help keep my credit card purchases private
and secure? |

brian,
I can point you at "disposable" credit card numbers which cannot be
reused, but to the best of my knowledge, it is extremely difficult if
not impossible to hide your name and address.
Would you accept an answer detailing how to get a disposable number
that would still reveal your real name?

A third party intermediary who takes payment from my card and for a
fee gives me a disposable card number AND their billing info to give
to web merchants is what I am seeking. This preserves my anonymous
purchasing goal.
I recall seeing just such a service but misplaced their web
address.......

Hello
Is Privatebuy what you are looking for?
http://web.archive.org/web/20011107184346/http://www.privatebuy.com/
I believe they went out of business because the only way I was able to
access their website was through the Internet Archive Wayback Machine.
Thanks

Dear Brian,
Just a question.
If you are ordering goods or services,
they need to be delivered to you.
So, you won't be able to hide your identity
or your location.
But if you are looking for a short-term or
specific use credit card number, that I can
find for you.
Would that work for you?
Best wishes,
