Hi there--

I'm afraid information on Mr. Danforth is scare and hard to come by. I
know he was actually born in Ithaca, New York on August 31, 1896, and
that he attended both the Art Institute of Chicago and the Academy of
Fine Arts in Chicago (according to the Curator of the Art Gallery at
UNH)

(http://www.unh.edu/news/Aug01/jv_20010808art.html shows one of his
pieces)

In contacting the Art Institute of Chicago's school, they do not have
biographical data going back that far.

Do you have any additional information or the names of specific pieces
which he has done, which might enable us to look more closely for
harder data?

Hi and thank you for your willingness to further research Mr.
Danforth. I understand that one of his pieces is "Avenue of Traffic"
and is currently in the Chicago Public Library Archives. The one of
the Art Institute that you refer to is one I'd certainly like to have.
I have three: "Old Chicago Water Tower", "Three Towers", and "Board
of Trade". Mine are in color. I have fond memories of these places
having spent most of my life in Chicago.I also believe he produced
many World War II posters and they are really well done but not of
interest to me for my collection.I hope this helps but please post if
I can help further. Many thanks! Pauliff
