A Several months ago I submitted my website http:www.uber-gamer.com to
your search engine. After about a month, the site was listed if you
typed in the name of the site directly. Now, it doesn't show any
knowledge of the site. What gives? Have I been blacklisted?

Hi antion,

Good day and thanks for your question. The official Google Webmaster
FAQ lists the possible reasons.
[ ://www.google.com/webmasters/2.html#usedtobe ]

Your site was probably down when the google spiders crawled through
it. In fact, at the time of posting this answers, I am unable to
access your site, I am getting a HTTP 500 - Internal server error.

If you have any futher clarifications, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for using this service and have a nice day.

Warm regards,
aditya2k

This site has been up since July. Not only that, we were listed at
one point and suddenly we were not listed anymore. This to me
appeared very odd. The other thing is I thought that it should not be
necessary to pay to have your site submitted. My robot.txt is what
google put in there when it's bots first came through. Like I said, I
was posted, but now I am not.

Hi antion,

Don't get panicky :) It has happened to me before. My website
disappeared mysteriously one day, only to return after a month in the
new index. Google updates its index once a month or so.

At the moment, I am able to access the site, but when I gave my
original answer, I couldn't. Maybe when the crawlers visited your
site, they could not access it and hence didn't index it.

Alternatively, maybe your page isn't very 'popular'. Popular in the
sense that it has no incoming links. Try to get more pages to link to
you.

In the end, it might be a technical glitch on Google's side

Your site will be back up during the next index revision. Don't
worry about it

there are a number of factors on why your site isn't coming up.

1) Google has to crawl millions and millions of pages. Chances are,
for your site, day to day changes and modifications aren't reflected.

2) With point #1 in mind, where is your site hosted? Perhaps your
site was down when Google went to crawl it thereby deleting it from
the index.

3) Check your META-Tags and the relevant content on the site. Does
it have text in there that is relevant to searches, etc?

4) Find some partner sites and have them link to your site. The more
sites that link to your site, the more popular you'll become in the
index.

5) Submit your site to other search engine services. Use Verisign to
post your URL and in 72 hours, your site will be indexed by MSN,
looksmart, Overture, Terra, Hotbot, Goo, etc.

6) Make sure your robots.txt isn't excluding your site from any
searches.

7) Be patient. It takes time to gain relevance and popularity in the
index.
