Describe the marketplace for wound care centers in the US? Is the
market divided into wound care centers in hospitals and stand alone
centers? How is it divided? Please tell me about the economics of
wound care centers especially those on the East Coast? What are the
critical success factors for most wound care Centers? What is average
employment and revenue in wound care centers? What is a typical day
like in a wound care center? Do wound care centers use Topical
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to close wounds?

It is my experience that wound care centers handle all types of wounds
- diabetic foot ulcers, decubitis ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, skin
grafts, burns, post surgical infections, gangrenous lesions and
frostbite. Also, spider bites, such as brown recluse bites. Hope this
helps.

Clarification:

Could you please elaborate a bit more on the nature of the wound, to be treated?

Are you referring to diabetic ulcers and/or decubitus ulcers?

Thank you in advance for the clarification.

When considering the 'marketing' and 'economics' of the wound care
business, it might be worth introducing some alternative but proven
methodologies. Because it's so simple and I think it's such a miracle
that I'll put in my two bob's worth and say that a wound centre that
used honey (specifically Manuka honey from New Zealand) would be not
only be economic to run but would probably be professionally
successful too. This isn't some weird alternative therapy. There are
many, many documented successes and on a personal level, my Mum had
diabetic ulcers for years that were awful, horror-movie type wounds.
Months in hospital and daily wound care did nothing; got worse, in
fact. Introduce honey treatment (which the home nursing service
applied and monitored) and within 5 months, they're healed. There's
heaps on info on the net. Any wound centre that doesn't use manuka
honey isn't reading the research or using available resources. There's
a place in the market for an effective wound centre and this might
give the 'edge' whether you're looking at it from a marketing or a
healing perspective.
