Looking for something I found on the internet a couple of months ago
but now cant find.

It was a company selling a cd of phrases for "Gigasampler" and perhaps
other looping programs like "Acid Pro" This differed from the normal
cds available for those programs, because it had full phrases that can
be put together to make a tune without putting together individual
instruments. There was a latin band cd and another style too that I
can't remember.

Im aware of the orchestra cd that has phrases to make movie scores
and I ordered that one but am looking for other companies that offer
complete band phrases for quick creation of music with Gigasampler.
Not loooking for your standard instrument sample CDs. I really want
to find that Latin band one especially with the full phrases. Thanks

Hello,
I think you mean the Latin Groove Factory cd's by Q Up Arts, there are
3 of them, all with long phrases.
From Q up arts website,
http://www.quparts.com/store/shop.cgi/shop.cgi/page=lgafro.html/SID=1036460318.3006
:
"The recognized de facto standard for Latin Music and percussion
samples. This is the most comprehensive 3 volume collection of
authentic traditional and contemporary drum and percussion grooves
from Cuba and Brazil. Grooves from the cultures of Puerto Rico,
Trinidad, and the Dominican Republic are also included in this smoking
set of drum and percussion loops and samples. Produced by experts in
the Latin music field, this CD offers the maximum amount of feel and
groove allowed in samplers today. The project is laid out in such a
way that even the lay person will be able to understand and use
“clave”.

Styles represented include: Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Songo, Guaguanco,
Bomba,
Merengue, Mozambique, Bolero, Salsa, Sambas - Cruzado, Funk, Partito
Alto, &
Batucada, Bossa Nova, Bairo, Calypso.
Percussion and Drums by Michael Spiro and Ed Smith, recorded by
Russell Bond,
Produced by Geoff Stradling

Specifics
Many variations of style and tempi are offered. You can blend and
combine these different loops into traditional or completely new
musical styles. Both 3/2 and 2/3 “clave” patterns are included so that
you can construct authentic Latin tracks.

Mixloops offer instant gratification. These consist of Drums and
Percussion, or Percussion sections in various combinations. Special
“Salsa” mixes have also been made that represent the typical way the
percussion instruments are arranged, played, recorded, and mixed in
Salsa music today.

The brave of heart can go straight to the individual loops of single
instruments or drum kit, and build their own personal combination of
Latin grooves.

Each Latin Groove Factory Volume contains a set of multi-Velocity
samples of all of the instruments used in hat volume. These samples
can be used to play fills that match the grooves, or to create your
own new grooves."

They also offer more than 20 other gigasampler cd's, including drum
scores and orchestral instruments:

Nowadays, putting longer phrases on a sample cd is becoming more
commonly, because new samplers can arrange larger samples. Some of the
most praised cd's are from time+space, most of their cd's contain
large phrases in a single style, and some small samples to fill in on
the phrases.

scoring tools is a cd that offers real orchestral phrases:
http://www.soniccontrol.com/tech/midi/articles/samplecds/scoringtools.shtml

Most other soundbanks for gigasampler are on the page of Nemesys, the
creators of Gigasampler: http://www.nemesysmusic.com/

At Sonic State, they review sample cd's, you won't find many cd's, but
you will find good reviews of the latest cd's. On soundcentral, you'll
find manufacturers of sample cd's.

thanks for your answer , but to clarify on what I said below

"it had full phrases that can
be put together to make a tune without putting together individual
instruments. "

I have been aware of those three disks and they have phrases but they
are phrases with individual instruments, and as I mentioned and
looking for "complete band phrases", not instrument phrases . Please
let me know what you find.

Hello,

On these disks are also phrases with several instruments, but I
understand this wasn't the serie you were looking for.
But: keyfax has the phrases you are looking for. I knew I saw them
somewhere. They produce midi-samples (sequences played by musicians in
midi), but also full-phrase cd's (they call it songkits). Have a look
at http://www.keyfax.com/keyfax/prdct.html and look under cd's.
