Question ID: 97439
What is the theory underlying Ayres' sensory integration? How has her
theory been challenged? What are problems in the theory or flaws in
the way Ayres came up with this theory and her technique (e.g.,I've
read that there is doubt whether there is such a thing as "sensory
integration disorders" , but I haven't read research on whether or not
this is true). Also, is the sensory integration approach used by
other disciplines besides occupational therapists and what training is
needed or recommended to perform this technique?
