I want to buy some dried plants to use for arrangements for the home.
I am specifically looking for physallis or Japanese lantern plant, red
pepperberry and dried hydrangeas. I have located one place (Mountain
Farms) but they only sell wholesale and I am a retail customer. Can
you tell me where to order these?

Hi mosaicmama,

There are a large number of retailers of dried flowers on the
Internet. Unfortunately, you may need to purchase your flowers from
more than one place, since most of them have very varied stocks.
Also, with the Christmas season fast approaching, the red and yellow
physalis and pepperberries are out of stock in many stores (I found
lots of pink pepperberries, though). The dried hydrangeas will be
easiest to find.

Here are some options I have found for you:

Floral Concepts International
http://www.floralconceptsintl.com/home.html
I found it easiest to find flowers by searching for the particular one
on this site. Unfortunately they are out of stock of physalis, but
may get more in.

J&T Imports
http://www.driedflowers.com/
This store has red pepperberries and hydrangeas, but no physalis (as
far as I could tell). It also has a large selection of foliages in
addition to flowers.

The Flower Mart
http://www.theflowermart.com/home.asp
This store has Japanese lantern (search for "lantern") and hydrangeas.
It also has "dark pink pepperberry", which may be dark enough for
your purposes or not.

I found these sites by browsing through the list at the Google
Directory page for dried flowers
(http://directory.google.com/Top/Shopping/Flowers/Dried/).

You could also search the Google engine for pages that fit some or all
of the following terms:

physalis
Chinese or Japanese lantern
dried hydrangea
red pepperberry

I found it helpful to delete the term "seed" (by typing -seed) to get
rid of results that were trying to sell to people wishing to plant a
flower garden.
