I saw a toy robotic furry kitten on CNN Headline News on Sunday night
(November 3) between 8 and 8:30 p.m. PST. The fur is white, the
kitten is interactive, can purr and hiss, and costs about $30. I've
tried Amazon (ToysRUs), Ebay, Yahoo, and K-B toys but no luck. Where
can I find one, preferably on line?

I've learned that the full name of the product is "Fur Real Friends
Robotic Cat by Tiger Electronics." It is available on Ebay at
inflated prices. Target and Amazon list it as out of stock.

I think that you are looking for a "FurReal Cat", otherwise known as
one of the "Fur Real Friends". They are produced by Tiger
Electronics, which is part of Hasbro.

Tiger Electronics

"FurReal Cat Is Your Special Animatronic Friend!" (7/31/2002)
Tiger Electronics

"Hunt for the hottest holiday toys has begun", by Suzanne Perez
Tobias, The Wichita Eagle (Nov. 3, 2002) seems to be out of stock at the moment, but there are eBay
auctions for white FurReal Cats:

Advanced search for furreal white in title and description, available
to United States

(I searched for the words furreal white; you can search for "fur real"
white and come up with other auctions.)

You can also try this Yahoo! Shopping store:

I just saw your clarification; it was posted as I was completing my
answer (while I could not see it).

I can look for other stores if you still feel that the prices on eBay
are inflated. I think that my search will reveal some reasonable
prices; at the moment, I see several white FurReal Cats avaialble for
less than $10.

Also, a correction; I just tried clicking to order the toy on the
Yahoo! Shopping site, and it links back to the page, which
indicates that the toy is out of stock.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

One more correction -- Here is the correct link for an advanced search
on eBay for items available to the United States, with the terms
<furreal white> in the title and description:

(My original search was for "Items from All Regions", instead of
"Items available to ... United States." Alternatively, you could try
a search for "Items located in ... United States".)

More generally, here is the link for the advanced search page on eBay:
