We are using Outlook XP with our Exchange 2000 server. Our server is
hosted, and the hosting company recently added support for Exchange
2000 instant messaging.

The Instant Messaging client for Exchange 2000 Instant Messaging
Service (which you can download for free from:
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/downloads/2000/IMclient.asp) look
very much like the standard Windows Messenger client, but is better.
It keeps your chat secure, not part of a public type network like
regular Microsoft MSN IM, or IRC. It also is very integrated into
Outlook 2002.

You can even simultaneously connect to both the public (.NET Messenger
Service) and your corporate Exchange 2000 Instant Messaging Service
account.

It works great for us.

The problem is that there is no client for the Mac side. We tried
using the MSN Messenger for Mac, but it didn’t work. We aren’t
experienced with this, so maybe it does work and we just couldn’t do
it.

We really need a cross platform IM solution that is very easy to use
and preferable integrated into Outlook XP (for windows) and Outlook
2001 for mac.

Here are my questions:
Are we just doing it wrong? Are others getting it to work?

Is there a known solution for doing this on a Mac?

If this doesn’t work, and there is no workaround, then what are our
alternatives for a secure and inexpensive solution IM that has Mac
software.
