Dear wink9999-ga

I not aware of any or former Goldman Sachs employees amongst my fellow
researchers so mine will be an outsider’s view.
Goldman Sachs is a global company and you do not specified a
particular country so I will take an overall view of the company.

First of all what does the company believe it offers:
“We offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in an exciting,
collegial environment, to surround yourself with gifted teammates, and
to challenge yourself to develop new skills and hone your talents. “

“Across every division of Goldman Sachs, you will find people with all
sorts of skills and backgrounds, well beyond business or finance.
People with diverse educational backgrounds, work experiences and
personal interests thrive at our firm because they are all united by
something unique - a drive, a passion, a focus on learning and a
commitment to being part of a team.”

I’ve selected a few examples of employee’s comments from the site. The
main features that come across from the comments I have seen are
energy, dynamism, team work and challenges. All these create a
substantial reward for its employees. One downside is the long hours
often 7.30 to 6.30. and it can be stressful.

Rebecca: “The top two questions I get asked are: "Do you like your
job?" and "What exactly do you do?" And it's funny, because every time
I explain my role, people get really excited and say, "Oh, that sounds
great!" …Another nice part of my job is that I do have flexibility.”

Ken: “Every day brings a different set of challenges and our team
makes sure we meet them together.”

Gemma: “My days aren't dull and dreary. In fact, I enjoy them.”

Ashley:” gained experience of working in teams and making
presentations.”

What do people say outside of Goldman Sach’s website?

Anna-Lena: “Although I have enjoyed the privilege of excellent
education opportunities throughout my life, I have never learned so
much in such a short of time as I have here at Goldman Sachs.”

Max: “I really like what I do. Almost any job on Wall Street is a mix
of development, support, and human interaction, and I like the variety
of challenges that I am faced with every day.”

Rosanna: “… there was a good team-working environment and my
supervisor was there to help. I used the internet to obtain resources
and learn new skills quickly. Goldman Sachs encouraged that - you
learn a lot by doing it yourself.”

Adam: “I enjoy working with a large International Company in an
environment where results are expected quickly. It is challenging work
but most importantly I really enjoy what I am doing."

It sounds good, but bear in mind you never asked about the negative
side of working for the company.

Please ask for clarification of any part of this research, or if the
links do not work, before rating the answer.
