I’m a hobbiest who has 5 cars. I drive all of them at various times,
for an approximate total of 10K mi/yr (all combined). I have USAA and
the multi-car discounts, but it’s still expensive. I drive in Utah and
occasionaly CA and WA. I’m not a trucker. They aren’t Classic cars, so
no break here. I have a very good driving record. Don’t smoke. Cars
have alarms, etc. I have car(s) at my residence.

Does anyone offer something like a “named operator” liability plan,
covering me in whatever car I drive? I can live without the
comprehensive coverage — if a car is wrecked, I have another to drive
;-). If I need to also carry an umbrella liability policy, that may
be fine.

There is this SR22 type of coverage for people with a DUI, but that’s
not me: "Broad Form - Owner/Operator Policy" states to the DMV that
the person named on the SR 22 form is insured while driving any
vehicle.” And, I hear that I can’t have this if there is a car at my
residence, even if owned by someone else(?).

I don’t really meet the definition, nor requirements (a showroom or
lot) of a dealer. Could I create a special LLC corporation, title the
cars in the name of it, and get some fleet coverage? Or, “Named
Non-Owner Policy: an auto insurance policy issued to an individual who
does not own an automobile, but who drives loaned or rented
automobiles.” Or, “Drive Other Car Endorsement: This is a coverage
that can be added to an auto policy providing auto coverage for
individuals named in the endorsement while they are driving autos not
owned by the individuals and not named in the policy. Otherwise known
as DOC coverage”.

I found an old 1997 post that the state of NV (I think it was) had
something like this.

Help me find a reasonably priced policy, other than the standard car
owner policy with additional car policies offering just the meager
multi-car discount.
