Chion-in temple in Japan is home to the nation's largest bell. Having
visited there personally, I found it intriguing that the bell is
located on a hillside (roughly 20 meters above the temple grounds).
Guide books tout that this bell weighs 74 tonnes and was cast in 1633.
I want to know how the bell got to its current location. Was it cast
on the hillside where it is now or was it cast elsewhere and
then lifted up the hill?
