I wouldn't want to give you the wrong advice, so I should probably
ask: Are you sure that it's the mattress that is squeaky? Might it
be the boxspring or frame? (I suppose the floor is a fourth
possibility.)

If you are not sure, then I or someone else can post an answer that
deals with all of the possibilities.

I am positive that it is the mattress and not the boxspring or frame
(i've done some tests). The mattress is only about 2.5 years old, and
it is a quality brand. I press down on certain parts of the mattress
(while it is on the floor) and I hear the squeaks. I am ruling out
the possibility of "loose nuts" hehehehe.

There is no answer at this time.

This from the DIYnet chatboard: "You have to find the source of the
squeak, which is caused by relative motion between two somethings. If
they're wooden somethings, re-glue and secure the joint. If it's metal
to metal, then add a thin plastic shim between them. If it's in the
box spring or mattress, replace them. These are never easy find to
find, but are generally easy to fix. Good Luck! "

It could be loose nuts.

If the mattress is only 2 1/2 years old and is a "quality brand",
might it be eligible for warranty attention?

Here's some additional commentary from DIYnet: "I know your problem
with kids or mother-in-law in your home it can really cramp your
style. Try doing it on the floor or get a cheap motel room."

Surly you guys get more entertaining questions than this one??!! I
suppose the matress should have some sort of warranty on it, so I will
contact the retailer to see what I can do.
