Question ID: 98779
I have a problem with a javascript menu and a flash animation: which
one takes precedence in my HTML page? Presently the embedded object
(flash movie .swf) takes precedence over the javascript pull-down menu
and my navigation menu drops underneath...how is it possible to bring
the js-menu
to the front? Note that
1) I can't use Flash even for the pull-down menu because the js-menu
gets his contents from a database
2) the solution should work both with IE & Netscape

thanx
paul

Since this is all bad news for you I decided to post as a
clarification rather than an answer. Flash will always be on top,
there's no current method of getting it to layer down under a menu.
And, when Netscape changed to the Mozilla engine, they messed up the
javascript communication between Flash. Macromedia is currently
working on the problem, there is no fix scheduled for this from
Netscape. And, it may be next year before Flash finds a fix. The fix
will probably only be for their newest version.

Bummer eh? Now, guess how I know all that off the top of my head :-)
