The 2002 film "Insomnia" is a remake of a 1997 Norwegian film (also titled "Insomnia") whose original script was not based upon a novel nor a true event, but was written directly for the screen by Nikolaj Frobenius and Erik Skjoldbjærg. Hillary Seitz adapted the Frobenius/Skjoldbjærg screenplay for the 2002 version. The Stephen King novel "Insomnia" is totally unrelated to either of these movies. |
