You shouldn't be looking for an 'average' as such, you need to call your country or state's 'wage line' (I don't know the name for the American one, but that's what it's called here in Australia) who will be able to tell you the award rate for part time, casual and full time employment, plus any bonuses you may receive for working on public holidays etc. There is probably also an award rate for home workers, but unfortunately many home workers are ethnic minorities without a good grasp of English, and are too afraid of being fired that they do not check - or possibly even know how to check - this. If you're thinking of undertaking home based work, don't settle for sweatshop wages! |
