i'm in the market to replace my entire home entertainment system and
would like some advice on equipment. i'd like to replace my television
(27"), surround sound receiver, 5-disc changer, dvd player (can be a
part of the changer) and speakers as well as possibly get an
amplifier. my old setup has done well for over 8 years, and i'm hoping
that this new setup will last just as long. keeping that in mind, i
was looking at hdtv's. i'm also looking at getting little speakers, as
opposed to the giant floor speakers that i currently have sitting on
the floor. i'd also like the whole srtup to be one brand, if possible,
to avoid my current dilema of having to use four remotes to watch
television. i have a budget of $3000.

I recently set up a decent home theater at a budget. Everything is
JVC. 32" TV from Amazon.com for $549. DVD / CD player for $104 from
Amazon. "Home theater in a box" from Vanns.com for $399. Everything
looks and sounds good.
